What Are They?
Training and running AI models requires a huge amount of computing power. Neoclouds are specialist cloud companies that provide it.
Companies such as CoreWeave, Nebius, and Crusoe buy thousands of expensive GPUs (usually from chipmaker Nvidia) pack them into data centers and rent the computing power to AI developers like Anthropic and OpenAI and “hyperscaler” tech giants like Microsoft, Alphabet, and Amazon.
Neoclouds may sound like sci-fi, but their job is quite mundane. They’re essentially the landlords of the AI boom: they own the expensive machinery and walls and rent it out.
